By incorporating his customers on the build journey through discussing designs, selecting their own timber and receiving regular updates through the construction process it is Adam's hope that his clients feel a sense of ownership and participation over the journey, making each piece that little more special. 

 

History of Madgia Designs 

Adam has always had a passion for woodwork through lessons at school and holidays building things in the back shed. But it wasn't until the COVID inspired lockdowns that he took his passion further. With extra time to spend in the shed Adam refined his techniques and set about building his first hardwood dining table for the new family home in Brown Hill. After many comments from family and friends that he should be selling his work, he decided to advertise some items on-line, the rest is history. In 2021 Madgia Designs was born and has created a number of pieces for clients both locally and right around Victoria.  

 

Our Lead Designer and Manufacturer Adam

Timber and timber furniture has always been a passion of mine something that started early when doing woodwork classes at school. I remember my first ever piece was a cabinet to house my swimming medals and whilst a bit rough I was pretty proud of the final result. I have always tinkered away and built things around the house that has included a pergola and outdoor room, but furniture has always been my passion. Turning a raw material into something that will be enjoyed for a lifetime is what makes me enjoy what I do so much.

As a teacher, spending time with my wife Anna and 3 children Maddison, Georgia and Alfie (their names forming the word Madgia) is my happy space but time out in the workshop, with headphones in, creating individual pieces is a close second. I take pleasure and a sense of pride when I see the smiles on my clients faces when delivering their items and it is what keeps my passion for woodworking alive.​
